Charities and Giving

We are doing this challenge as a team to raise £10,000 for three charities. Each charity has a personal meaning to us, and we have each created our own page on JustGiving. Our team page is visible here!

Alzheimer’s Research UK is the UK’s leading dementia research charity specialising in finding preventions, causes, treatments and a cure for dementia. They believe that science and innovation hold the key to defeating dementia. I recently lost a relative to this disease, hence why I’ve chosen it for my charity.

I have chosen Macmillan Cancer Support as my charity. It is a brilliant charity in the way that it offers practical, medical and financial support to those suffering from cancer.

I have chosen the Cystic Fibrosis trust as my charity. Since it was established in 1964, the Cystic Fibrosis Trust has actively supported excellence in research and clinical care, as well as providing practical support and advice to people with Cystic Fibrosis and their families. They are at a crucial point with their gene therapy research with phase II clinical trials starting this year.

Don’t worry, none of your donations are going to go towards the expedition costs – everything you donate is going directly to the charities via JustGiving.
